    • Polka

      By Magda Gessler
Magda Gessler is a big name in Poland. Not only does she run her own extremely successful restaurants, but she also has her own TV programme in which she provides a springboard to success for failing restaurants. You’ll never forget a visit to the Polka restaurant, which is not necessarily for fans of understated, cool design. It’s all red and floral, embellished and adorned, rustic and almost a little kitschy. But who cares when the food is this good?

    • Folk Gospoda

      Typically Polish
Of course, there are lots of places in Warsaw that serve typical Polish food. The Folk Gospoda is a good choice for traditionally prepared and cooked Polish dishes. The restaurant is rustic with lots of wood, stone walls and cushions. Some might find it all rather kitschy, but it’s actually just truly Polish. Hearty menus, generous portions and plenty of beer – that’s dining at the Folk Gospoda. And it’s affordable, too!

    • Akashia

      Sushi and sashimi

It serves top sushi – and that during an extended lunchtime from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Added fun: you can combine your own sushi-sashimi box. At good prices.

    • Czerwony Wieprz

      Historic restaurant
This restaurant is an experience. Located in a historic building, it also has a lot of history. Communist powerbrokers have dined here as well as big-name politicians and stars from all over the world. The menu includes Erich Honecker’s pork trotter, Mao Tse Tung’s chicken, or else a completely «normal» pork chop. The ambience is elegant, with lots of gold and velvet. Reservations a must.

      Popular cocktail bar
Many people think the Pies Czy Suka is the best cocktail bar in town. It’s a little hidden away inside a courtyard.
