Chic, modern, friendly and in the perfect locations – no more words are needed to describe the Gibson Hotel, which is right on the harbour. The same level of style is evident in all the rooms, the spa, bar and restaurant. The food is fabulous, the views from the terrace unique, and the stylish courtyard is the perfect place to relax.

The Chapter One has been named one of the best hotels in Ireland, and I was not disappointed when I visited. The cuisine in this unique ambience, which consists of carefully selected materials, customised interiors and art by Irish artists, is exquisite. Reservations a must.

Not only students live on the university campus in Dublin. During the summer months from June to September, you can also book here reasonably priced accommodation for your Dublin trip. Every room has its own bathroom. The price also includes breakfast.

My personal favourite night life spot is the Café en Seine. Admittedly, it's more of a café and restaurant during the day, but on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 10 p.m., it changes into a popular combination of pub and disco. It always gets crowded so it's a good idea to come early. You might be disappointed that the place closes down at 2:30 a.m., but until that time, the place is crazy. And even better: entrance is free.

My absolute favourite! It isn't easy finding a restaurant in Dublin that's both good and inexpensive. And that offers a nice atmosphere. However, I found one in Talbot Street. The steakhouse is cheap and great. Even the beverage prices are reasonable and water is free. The service is professional and friendly. Make sure to book ahead, because every table at Le Bon Crubeen tends to be filled, especially at weekends. This is a must for any visitor to Dublin!
