Not far from the legendary Reeperbahn is where you’ll find this modest-looking cocktail bar, which is run by a collective of artists and mixologists. The simple but warmly lit interior, the good music and the wonderful cocktail creations could keep you there some time. It’s a meeting point for young locals at weekends, too.

#4 Frankfurt: Seven Swans & The Tiny Cup
You don’t often sit as close to the barkeeper as you will here: but doing so is a genuine delight. Sven Riebel has created a gem of an address – not for nothing was The Tiny Cup named Germany’s Best New Bar last year. And Sven is not just an excellent mixer; he’s a wonderful host, too.

#5 Singapore: Operation Dagger
At the entrance, there’s little indication of the bar behind. But if you’ve seen the logo on the website, it’s one you’re sure to remember. This is a genuine lab with a bar in the look of an Aesop shop. And design fans are sure to delight in the sheer range of creativity inside.

No word can describe this bar better than its name. Both the food and the drinks (Pedro Manhattan!) are outstanding! The décor is a cross between bistro and gastro pub. Well worthchecking out – as indeed is the nearby Mayakovskaya subway station. Don’t miss either!
