Gaudi’s soaring spires and writhing forms are breathtaking, but also enjoy the details, such as the pillar supported by a tortoise.
In the evening go to the central Boqueria Market area and explore the city’s legendary nightlife. Traditional tapas bars are a must. Enjoy a glass of wine or vermouth with some of the delicious dishes before moving on to the next place. Meaty croquettes in a white sauce are a Barcelona speciality.
