Montreal certainly knows how to put on a show. In its theatre district, the Quartier des Spectacles, there are more than 30 live entertainment venues packed on an area of just one square kilometre. The city also has many festivals throughout the year. In July it hosts not only the world’s largest jazz festival, but also the world’s largest fireworks competition.
The festivals aren’t limited to the summer months. During the Montréal en Lumière event in February, there is an extensive convert programme with major artists. In addition, the Place des Arts is beautifully lit and full of entertainment. You are also never far away from a street food stall.
