At 412 m, the Willis Tower stands out, even in Chicago’s dramatic skyline. When you get to the 103rd floor, the view is spectacular enough, but there is an extra treat – a glass ledge that projects more than a meter out from the side of the building.
Below, you can see the roofs of skyscrapers, and beyond that, the waters of Lake Michigan. The Navy Pier is on the lakeshore. Built in the early 20th century to house warehouses, it is now home to many tourist attractions, including fairground rides, sea tours and an IMAX theatre. In winter there is an ice rink and in summer there are regular fireworks.
