The train journey from Hong Kong airport to the city centre takes less than half an hour. The journey is a pleasure in itself. A comfortable horse-drawn carriage overlooks the sea and mountains and takes you quickly through the outskirts of Hong Kong. It is hard to believe that the airport and its transport links were built in just 7 years.
When you arrive at the main station, you are in the heart of the high-rise financial district. It's easy to find your way around Hong Kong. In addition to buses, taxis and the subway, there are some old double-decker trains known as "Dingdings". The Central District also has the longest outdoor escalator in the world.
