The history of the twentieth century is omnipresent in Warsaw. The Uprising Museum is the heart of the city's war experiences. Powerful multimedia and interactive exhibits take you back to this terrible time. To visit the location of the Jewish ghetto, it is best to take part in a guided tour, as the surviving elements are often fragmented or hidden.
After the war, the old town was beautifully restored in only 5 years. Walk through the cobbled streets and see the maze of picturesque architecture, then enjoy coffee and cake in one of the many cafés. A visit to the Royal Castle at the edge of the Old Town takes you back to the golden age of Poland.
