Vienna is a great city of music. Many of its churches are associated with one or the other composer. Bruckner was organist at Saint Florian's with his beautiful elliptical dome. Mozart married in the Stephanskirche - his parish church. Behind the cathedral is the Mozarthaus Museum, in the building where he wrote the wedding of Figaro.
The architecture of the Viennese churches and castles really lets you know that it is a large imperial city. The baroque splendour of Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburgs, is a must. Wander through the beautiful apartments and huge formal gardens to see how an 18th century monarch lived.
