Spain’s capital Madrid is home to the Prado gallery, which is one of the world’s greatest collections of European art. But the Prado is only the start of Madrid’s claim to artistic greatness.
The Reina Sofia Museum has many modern masterpieces, including Picasso’s gigantic anti-war canvas, Guernica, and works by the arch-surrealist Salvador Dalí. Football, rather than art, is what brings many visitors to Madrid. The city is home to two world-renowned football clubs, Real and Atletico. But even if you are not watching a game, you can take a tour of the Bernabéu Stadium, including the pitch-side, the presidential box and the changing rooms.
