Between 21 June and 4 July 2017, SWISS will be celebrating Central Switzerland’s Wrestling and Alpine Festival with special dishes on board selected European flights.

Over the course of the year, we’ll be serving culinary delicacies in recognition of different Swiss traditions. On the first weekend in July, the laurel wreath will be bestowed on Switzerland’s best wrestler at the Alpnach airfield. At the 111th Alpnach Wrestling and Alpine Festival, the bad boys will once again pull up their sleeves and give it their all in the sawdust-strewn ring. But it’s not just about a demonstration of power, but a merry celebration with plenty of food, drinks and musical entertainment for all visitors as well. Central Switzerland’s Alpnach Wrestling and Alpine Festival takes place on Sunday, 2 July 2017.

You can look forward to the culinary highlights on board, too. For example, dry-cured ham from Obwalden with sliced cheese and a tomato salsa. On longer flights, we’ll be serving a beef fillet with pepper gravy and a potato gratin, or a traditional Swiss macaroni gratin with pears. For dessert, an Obwaldner meringue with diplomat cream and berry compote awaits.

SWISS Taste of Switzerland is served on all flights departing from Switzerland. This award-winning gastronomic concept lets top Swiss chefs interpret the culinary variety of our country in their own unique ways. The results are seasonal dishes from Swiss regions that impress and delight.
