Grand Tour – Lake Geneva Region

On the Grand Tour of Switzerland, the road is your destination

Looking for a great breath of fresh air? The Lake Geneva Region section of the Grand Tour of Switzerland awaits you. 1001 facets to be explored and a single objective: Adventure.

  • This new itinerary invites to explore the most beautiful sites of Switzerland by car. 250 km of the route lead through the region with its lakes, vineyards, the Jura, and the Alps.

You can start at the foot of the Alps at the famous thermal baths of Lavey, and proceed to gain height in Leysin, where the revolving restaurant Kuklos offers a fantastic view of Lake Geneva and the snow-covered Alps. Those who love strong sensations will enjoy Glacier 3000 above Les Diablerets, the highest point of the region with a panoramic view from the restaurant and, since last autumn, the Peak Walk, the worldwide highest suspension bridge linking two mountain summits.

  • Back to the plains and a drive along the shores of Lake Geneva with its picturesque castle of Chillon, the emblem of the region. Close by, the town of Montreux right at the waterfront, famous for its jazz festival.

The journey then continues to the terraced vineyards of Lavaux, a UNESCO world heritage site since 2007, to be explored on foot, by bike or aboard the little tourist train. In Lausanne, capital of the region and the Olympic games, the cultural proposals are manifold: art at several different museums, nightlife and entertainment in the Flon district.

The last stop at the Lake of Neuchâtel will be in Yverdon-les-Bains with its wonderfully relaxing warm thermal waters, the ideal way to end the day after visiting the historic center of town and the museums.
