  1. What is the speed of the SWISS Connect internet connection?

The connection speed is comparable with the speed of public WLAN connections on the ground. You can surf on the internet, stay in touch with friends on social media or consult your emails. We do not recommend you use voice services or streaming.

  2. Can I use SWISS Connect for streaming or voice services?

Although we do not restrict the use of streaming and voice services, we do not recommend that you use these due to the high volume of data transfer and the possible impact this may have on the user experience of other passengers.

  3. Which end devices can I use with SWISS Connect?

Every device with a Wi-Fi function, e.g. laptops, tablets or smartphones, can be connected to the internet using SWISS Connect.

  4. Can I use SWISS Connect to connect to the web with two end devices simultaneously?

You cannot use one SWISS Connect profile to connect to the internet with two end devices. Two end devices can be used one after the other, as long as you disconnect from your user profile on the one device before logging on with the second device.

  5. Can I use SWISS Connect to connect to my office or corporate network via VPN?

The system supports all major VPN applications. However, the support depends on the configuration of your company. SWISS Connect uses the standard TCP/IP internet connection. Should you encounter any problems with your VPN connection, please contact your company's IT support.

  6. How does the SWISS Connect MB package work?

The MB package applies to the total volume of data that is transferred during the period of use. The data you transfer will only be deducted from the MB package while you are connected with your SWISS Connect profile.

  7. Do I need to create a user profile to use the internet with SWISS Connect?

Yes, if you would like to use the internet with SWISS Connect, you need to create a user profile.

  8. Can I change or cancel an order?

Your order is finalised once payment has been made. This means that you can no longer change or cancel an order.

  9. Can I use remaining data on my next flight?

Data consumption is calculated as soon as you log in and is only valid for the one flight. Any data that has not been used during your flight cannot be reimbursed. The period of use will not be reimbursed in the event of service interruptions or other reasons.

  10. Under which circumstances are vouchers reimbursed?

Vouchers can only be reimbursed in the event that 1) network availability less than 70% (“Availability” means the percentage of total available minutes the service is operational at the legally permitted altitudes and regions.), or 2) no Wi-Fi was available on board due to a change of plane. The purchase price will be reimbursed to the credit card that was used to purchase the voucher. Please send us an email to request a reimbursement.

  11. Can my data be seen or intercepted by others when I user SWISS Connect?

Authentication between your end device and the Panasonic purchasing pages is secured with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. This ensures that data cannot be intercepted or manipulated by a third party. However, the service is provided via a public Wi-Fi and no public Wi-Fi is 100% secure.

  12. Can others access my hard drive while I use SWISS Connect?

In the same way as you would protect yourself when using internet on the ground, SWISS Connect users must take their own measures to protect themselves (e.g. by using security software). SWISS Connect uses the standard 802.11b/g Wireless Protocol to provide secure internet access. However, the service is provided via a public Wi-Fi and no public Wi-Fi is 100% secure.
