As part of our operational developments, the new role of Turnaround Manager is making a valuable contribution and helping to keep processes running smoothly, especially in challenging situations. They have been in place since spring 2025 – an eight-strong team that coordinates processes relating to individual flights between landing and departure.
Important interface on the apron
The so-called turnaround involves numerous processes: disembarking passengers, unloading baggage, cleaning, refueling, reloading, and getting the aircraft ready for the next flight. Each of these steps is time-critical – and this is exactly where the turnaround managers come into play. They act as a link between the various interfaces with our partner companies involved on the apron to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
What does that look like in practice? In our latest video, we accompany turnaround manager Philipp during his early shift and show how much coordination, communication, and precision are required in his everyday work.
