When the skiing elite compete against each other
The races on the Lauberhorn in the Bernese Oberland are considered to be among the most difficult runs in the world. Over the four days of this event, the dense and highly varied programme attracts more than 40,000 visitors. At the same time, millions of winter sports enthusiasts follow it on television. Athletes compete in the three disciplines of Alpine Combination, Downhill and Slalom for the best time and the prize money.

Unforgettable moments for the fans
As a partner to the International Lauberhorn Races the SWISS crew has a representative role at the official ceremonies and looks after invited guests in the SWISS Lounge in the finish area. However, with an attractive fringe programme around the highly prestigious ski races, SWISS also provides a unique atmosphere away from the slopes. This includes flypasts by C Series or Airbus aircraft, musical performances by the SWISS Pilot Combo and prize draws for flight vouchers. As SWISS is not only the official airline of the Lauberhorn Ski Races but also its biggest fan, the results are genuine highlights that offer visitors unforgettable moments.

SWISS and Patrouille Suisse
The flypasts with the Patrouille Suisse provide a fabulous airborne spectacle over Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. SWISS pilots practise the breathtaking manoeuvres extensively in the flight simulator, where the actual route that is flown can be reproduced realistically later on. This is necessary, because flying in the mountains differs greatly from a scheduled flight. Pilots start preparing for the flypast in January well in advance. They start practising up to four times a week in September, and then they discuss their flying manoeuvres after every training session. Being able to fly the Lauberhorn with the Patrouille Suisse is a tremendous honour – and motivation.
