SWISS Business guests will now find a new feature in their pre-flight email for short-haul flights—making travel preparation even more convenient: the SWISS Pre-Select service. What might seem like a simple meal selection at first glance is actually the beginning of a personalized culinary experience. With SWISS Pre-Select, travelers can easily choose their preferred dish online before departure. We tested the service on a flight to Copenhagen and found that those who select their favorite meal ahead of time start their journey more relaxed, enjoy their meal more mindfully, and experience SWISS Business in a more personal way.

Anticipation Begins at Home
For some time now, SWISS Business guests on both long- and short-haul flights have had the option to select their meal before departure. Initially available only for long-haul flights from Zurich, the service was later extended to short-haul flights to and from Zurich. Now, the offer is also available to travelers flying SWISS Business to and from Geneva.

Meal pre-selection is available on most flights from Zurich with a flight time of over one hour, as well as on flights from Geneva lasting more than two hours that depart after 10 a.m. Guests can choose their preferred meal online as early as six weeks and up to one day before departure: simply click the link in the email, select your meal, confirm—and you're all set.

A Variety That Surprises

The meal selection is impressively diverse. Depending on the flight duration, guests can choose from up to eight cold and nine hot dishes. Options include vegetarian meals, as well as meat and fish dishes. On flights over two hours, travelers can also look forward to Swiss classics such as our Zürcher-style veal, dishes from the much-loved SWISS Taste of Switzerland concept—typically reserved for long-haul flights and a range of international delights. All meals are freshly prepared and seasonally curated.
In our case, we chose:

• A poke bowl with marinated tofu, quinoa, tomatoes, and cucumbers
• A tuna tartlet served on poached veal with capers and a tomato-walnut salsa
• For the return flight: a light and summery cherry tomato salad with peaches, mozzarella, and basil crème fraîche, roasted pine nuts, and a tomato tartare with grilled zucchini, mozzarella, olives, and arugula

Of course, there are also classic meat and fish options—such as salmon tartare with lemon crème fraîche and pickled vegetables, or a traditional Swiss apéro platter with air-dried meat and cheese specialties.

Everything at the gate proceeds as usual, but this time, a sense of anticipation travels with you—your personally selected meal. After takeoff, the cabin crew greets you with a warm and thoughtful touch:
"You’ve selected a Pre-Select menu – may I serve it to you?"
It’s a small moment that makes the journey feel special. You receive exactly what you ordered—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Complete with Swiss cheese and a seasonal dessert to match.
The meal impresses visually as well. Each component is thoughtfully paired, the presentation is elegant, and the overall dining experience feels premium. You can relax, savor the meal, and feel genuinely cared for throughout your flight.
