SWISS invested CHF 5 billion to renew its short- and medium-haul fleet. SWISS has placed an order for 30 Bombardier C Series and is the world’s first carrier to operate this aircraft. The innovative aircraft is particularly silent (noise level reduced by 50%) and fuel-efficient (cut by 25%). SWISS from Geneva will serve its entire European network with the C Series – a total of 37 destinations.
On 6 August 2016, the second aircraft joined our short- and medium-haul fleet. HB-JBB was ceremoniously named “Canton of Geneva” on the tarmac of Geneva Airport and then performed a flypast at low altitudes around the Geneva Lakefront during the 1st Geneva Lake Festival.
A sign that SWISS is further underlining its commitment to Western Switzerland.
Relive the emotions of this exciting day:
SWISS from Geneva will start operating its Bombardier C Series start operating from Geneva Airport in spring 2017. We look forward to welcoming you aboard our brand-new aircraft.
