Common Checked Baggage Fees

For travelers in Economy Class from the United States to Switzerland:

  • Your first checked bag up to 23kg/50lbs: Free of Charge
    • +1 Free Carry-On Bag up to 8kg/18lbs
  • Your second checked bag up to 23kg/50lbs: 90.00 USD
  • The maximum size per piece of baggage is 158 cm (width X + height Y + depth Z).

International Flight Change Fees

Economy Light fares can be rebooked with a 199 USD Fee plus possible fare differences. Economy Classic fares and upwards can be rebooked plus possible fare differences. The originally paid ticket amount will be credited against the new ticket. In this case also a fare, tax, fees and charges differential might apply. The following conditions must be observed:

  • The original fare is still available
  • The flight sequence remains unchanged
  • Changes must be made before departure of original scheduled flight
  • Changes not permitted in case of no-show

Otherwise the fare will be recalculated and any fare, tax, fees and charges differential may apply. Flight change fees are subject to change and vary based on origin and destination.

Additional Fees Charged for Unaccompanied Children

For the SWISS care service for unaccompanied children, in addition to the price of the flight, a care service charge applies per route and per child (even in the case of siblings travelling together): 170 USD

Flying with Infants

For international flights, the Infant fare is 10% of the adult fare plus applicable fees.

Travelling with Pets

You can take your dog or cat with you in the cabin on your SWISS flight. We’ll check the availability and make the booking for you no later than 72 hours before departure. We shall inform you by email if it is not possible to make the booking for your pet. If your booking is successful, you must pay the fees incurred when checking in at the airport.

Dogs and cats that weigh more than 8 kg including their transport container may be transported under certain conditions as excess baggage in the aircraft’s air-conditioned cargo hold.
