National football team on board

Passengers on their SWISS flight from Zurich to Palma de Mallorca had a very nice sporty surprise.

As the official airline partner, SWISS flies the teams of the Swiss national team to their tournaments abroad – and back home to Switzerland again, of course. On board, our attentive cabin crew ensures that the players are as comfortable as possible to help them prepare for their upcoming competitions.

Surprised passengers on the flight from Zurich to Palma de Mallorca

Exclusive partnerships

Through partnerships with Swiss sporting associations and international events in Switzerland, we are able to live our commitment to Switzerland. As a small airline, it is particularly important to SWISS to be close to its Swiss guests and fans, and to share memorable experiences with them, both in the air and on the ground. Thus, for instance, SWISS was the only airline that enabled fans to fly to France together with the Swiss national team. However, passengers also had the opportunity to meet some of the stars before the event.

Footballers as flight attendants

Our guests on the flight from Zurich to Palma de Mallorca were pretty amazed to see jerseys of the Swiss national team on their seats. But there was more: for the service, our crew was supported by none other than Fabian Schär, Valon Behrami and Gelson Fernandes. The footballers were kept busy signing jerseys, posing for snapshots and helping to create a relaxed atmosphere on board.

14 teams – one airline

On the pitch, the players of the national A team can demonstrated the full extent of their skills. The idols still jump higher than their younger colleagues, circle the ball more precisely into the deepest corners of the goalpost in standard situations, catch even the steepest passes, and delight the audience with bold overhead kicks. But the youngsters of today are the stars of tomorrow. That is why SWISS, as the airline of Switzerland, supports the following 14 teams of the Swiss national team with comprehensive flight services:

  • Men's A team
  • Women's A team
  • Men's junior team (U-20, U-19, U-18, U-17,U-16, U-15)
  • Women's junior team (U- 20, U-19, U-18, U-17, U-16)
  • Beach Soccer
