Technical Division – "The people behind SWISS"

Preventing problems before they occur: This is where the fleet technology is monitored around the clock, and regular checks are carried out in the hangar.

Expert Aircraft Engineer
Line Maintenance Geneva

Even as a child, I loved taking my toys apart and putting them back together again. I still do the same thing today, but on a much larger scale and on real aircraft. My job as an aircraft engineer is the maintenance and servicing of our aircraft fleet. The idea is to prevent problems before they occur. If necessary, I carry out aircraft checks on the tarmac before they start up. When an aircraft is brought in for its annual check, I work on it in the hangar.

My job comes with a lot of responsibility, and I am greatly motivated by watching an aircraft take off, knowing that I have played my part in helping it to do so.

Fleet Engineer
Aircraft Systems Engineering

As a fleet engineer, my main tasks include the constant technical monitoring of our aircraft and engine fleet. As soon as a problem is noted, I intervene proactively. Maintenance then carries out the repair to the aircraft with the aid of service manuals. If my colleagues need any technical support, I am the right contact for them.

Contact with the maintenance department and the link to the aircraft and engine manufacturers is extremely important to me, because I work closely with them to investigate the possible causes of any damage with them.
