Ready for the future
SWISS has reached a major milestone in the modernization of its long-haul fleet with the introduction of the Airbus A350-900. The ultra-modern aircraft impresses with its technical innovations and remarkable fuel efficiency. The advanced engines, the use of modern materials, and the aerodynamic design ensure a noise reduction of up to 50% than that of similar aircraft types.
The Airbus A350 is the first SWISS aircraft to take off with a completely redesigned cabin as part of the new long-haul experience SWISS Senses.
Currently in Summer 2026, our Airbus A350 will take you to Boston (seven weekly flights) and Seoul (three weekly flights).
Number of aircraft and registration
SWISS will gradually add a total of ten factory-new Airbus A350-900s to its fleet by 2031. The first Airbus A350 bears the registration HB-IFA in the Swiss aircraft register. The "HB" stands for the Swiss national emblem; the "I" denotes the weight class of over 15 tons, and the letter "F" has been assigned to the Airbus A350 aircraft type. The "A" at the end symbolizes that this is the first Airbus A350 at SWISS. The second aircraft of this type will accordingly be given the registration HB-IFB.
