Whether golf bag, skis, winter sports equipment or bicycles - SWISS will transport your sports equipment for you. Ask us, take it along and have a wonderful trip.

Golf equipment
A golf equipment consists of golf clubs, balls and 1 pair of golf shoes, all weighing up to 15 kg.

Ski and winter sports equipment
A set of ski or winter sports equipment consists of a pair of skis, ski sticks and/or a pair of ski boots or a snowboard and/or a pair of snowboard boots.

To protect your ski or snowboard equipment, we recommend special plastic bags, which are available at our check-in counters.

Bicycles
Please advice us, that you are planning to take along your bicycle when booking your flight. (In some planes the capacity of the baggage compartment is limited). Please contact one of the SWISS service centers.

We recommend that you use a hard-shell container or a cardboard box. Please note that, bicycles may no longer be packed in plastic bags. The handlebar must be turned by 90 degrees parallel to the frame, in the lowest possible position and fixed to the frame. The saddle must be in the lowest possible position. Remove the front wheel, deflate the tires and fix it to the frame.

Special cardboard boxes for the protection of your bicycle are available at our check-in counters. The fee as indicated in the table below includes the costs for the card-board box - length: 162cm, height: 92cm, width 24cm.

Scuba
A scuba equipment of max. 15kg of weight consist of diving mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, BCD jacket (inflatable vest) and regulator. The torch can be carried in the hand baggage but without battery. The oxygen tank must be empty and the valve must be open.
Normal excess baggage rates apply.

Surfboard
A Surfboard means, a small kite board, small surf board, wakeboard, body board or water-ski equipment. Surfboard bigger than 200cm shall be handled like a windsurfer.

Windsurfer / Hang glider / Canoe
The equipment includes, board, boom and sail.

Angling equipment
Fishing equipment consists of 1 tackle box, haversack or angler’s basket, 1 rod and one bag or box.

• On SWISS flights, the transport of sports equipment (weight concept) is always subject to the below charges and is excluded from the free baggage allowance. Applicable per passenger, adult and child over 2 years of age.
• The fees in the table apply to European and some Intercontinental flights (weight concept) and apply for one way travel; round trips are subject to the double fee.

• Sports equipments not mentioned shall be categorized and charged according to its measures and weight.
• For flights to/from the USA and Canada (piece concept). Please contact SWISS to find out the appropriate flat fee.

With the exception of golf and ski equipment, other sporting equipment must be indicated when the flight reservation is made. SWISS recommends suitable packaging.
